Cape Forchu
About the site
In 1604, French explorer Samuel de Champlain mapped the Bay of Fundy. He noted the unusual twin capes here and named the place Cap-Fourchu, meaning ‘forked cape’. This unique “apple core” lighthouse is the tallest one in Nova Scotia that can be climbed and has an intact lightkeeper’s dwelling open to the public.
